DESIGNER'S DESK
OnCourse Living, 11 July 2005
Talk about popular. Consider that The Peninsula on the Indian River Bay in Delaware surpassed $100 million in home sales in less than a year and that was before it opened its Model Home Village. The Peninsula has certainly raised the bar, gaining national attention that has brought visitors from as far away as California to purchase homes in what is truly a world-class resort community.

They've been attracted by the prospect of playing a golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. Indeed, they're looking for a community that will offer the finest in recreational amenities as well as a home that suits their needs. At The Peninsula, they're finding satisfaction, with homes available in a variety of styles, including townhomes, villas, condominiums, and custom homes. The model home village opened recently with six villa models and two townhomes displayed by Miller and Smith, one of the largest privately-held builders in the Washington D.C. area. It will also include 11 furnis hed homes consisting of three custom designs: The Zacary by Atlantic Homes; The Nathaniel by Brosnahan & Sons; and the Iris by Echelon Custom Homes (seen above and below). As one can see, The Iris and other designs reflect the unique and attractive coastal village architecture that will soon grace the nine private neighborhhods at the Peninsula.
